Dangerous Chests​

Not every treasure chest is as helpful as it seems. Sometimes, you'll get near one and find that it is actually a dangerous Mimic. Your best bet is to hack apart any chest you find, so that you can get a head start if it winds up having a life meter. However, another trick is to stand nearby, outside of potential striking range. Watch the chest closely for several seconds. If you see any movement, such as an opening and closing lid, that's your cue to get offensive.

Easy "Covenant: Aldrich Faithful" achievement​

This covenant is located in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley after the Pontiff Sulyvahn boss fight. Run outside from the Pontiff Sulyvahn bonfire, then go left up the stairs. Run directly through the sleeping giants and go up the stairs and enter the room at the end. Pass through the illusory wall in the rear left corner and use the ladder to go down into a watery chamber. Defeat the two rat-lizard mini-Bosses here. Note: Lure them with a ranged attack from the ladder to fight them individually. Archdeacon McDonnell will be in the rear left corner of the room, and will give you access to the covenant.

Easy "Covenant: Blade of the Darkmoon" achievement​

From the Anor Londo Bonfire, set the elevator spiral staircase to the top position. Run down the stairs and look at the horizon, away from Anor Londo to spot a distant bonfire on a tower. To reach it, you have to use an invisible walkway directly from the stone pavement you are standing on. No jumping is required. The invisible walkway travels in a straight line up until it is directly parallel to the bonfire. Once there, roll down to reach it. Either shoot arrows into the ground or use prism stones (which are sold by the Shrine Handmaid in Firelink Shrine) to see where the invisible path is found and where it ends. The woman that allows you to join the covenant is next to the bonfire.

Easy "Covenant: Warrior of Sunlight" achievement​

There is a large bonfire near the beginning of the Undead Settlement area, with a lot of enemies standing around. Walk near the left side of the area past the fire into a dark alley. Open the door there to find a room full of hanging bodies. Drop down the hole in the floor to the right of the entrance to find the Warrior of Sunlight talisman.

Easy Uchigatana​

If you want the Uchigatana katana, you'll have to defeat the master swordsman who wields it. You'll find him near the top of Firelink Shrine. However, you don't have to fight him fairly. You can ascend carefully to the rooftops and then run along them. You should see the swordsman, running along the base of the wall, hoping to duel. From your vantage point, you can safely take him down with shots from the Soul Arrow spell. Just make sure you don't run out of magic in the process, or you'll have to drop down and finish the job the old-fashioned way.

Firelink Shrine Trades​

If you know what items to leave with the crow near Firelink Shrine, you can receive some nice rewards. Just keep track of what you provide as an offering, since you can only leave a particular offering once. The list below lists the items you can leave, along with their corresponding rewards.

Havel's Armor​

Find the Havel NPC in Archdragon Peak. Kill him and he will drop his weapon and a Greatshield. Now, make your way to the bridge located above Farron Keep. There, you should find a set of armor resting next to the stray demon. The armor only appears in that location if you have first killed Havel at Archdragon Peak.

Infinite experience​

Bonfires currently respawn enemies. Thus, once you reach the Firelink Shrine, use the bonfire. Then, teleport back to the first area and all the enemies will have respawned. You can kill them again with minimal difficulty and work your way back to Firelink Shrine. Repeat this as many times as desired. This can be done with any bonfire to respawn enemies. To get more HP and survive longer, ember yourself while doing this. After you ember yourself, use a dried finger. This increases the amount of souls you gain for a limited time, but you have to be embered for this to take effect. Additionally, equip the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring to get even more souls between rests at the bonfire. Note: This exploit was performed on patch 1.04 of the game. It will eventually get patched. To avoid not being able to use this exploit, either do not install new patches before using this exploit or delete the patches. You can avoid patches being installed by disconnecting from the internet until you are ready for the game to install new patches.

Infinite Souls (Exploit)​

By taking advantage of a special exploit, you can use a Boss Soul and it will remain in your inventory. Thus, you can generate as many as 20,000 souls every seven seconds or so, just by repeatedly consuming the same Boss Soul. The exploit is valid through at least patch 1.03, but will likely be fixed at some point after that. Before you begin, make sure that you save a copy of your file in case something goes wrong. Then, carefully complete the following steps.

Equip a shield that allows you to parry, such as the starting shield for the Knight class

Place a Boss Soul in your first Quick Item slot and equip all items in any other slots.

Place an empty Estus Flask in your first toolbelt slot.

With everything set up as indicated above, hold DOWN on the d-pad and be ready to quickly follow the next step indicated in the process.

While continuing to hold the DOWN button, parry and then quickly enter the following button combination, starting as the shield's position is parallel to your character's shoulder: LT, X, START, A.

You have to time things very specifically, or the process will not work and you'll use up your Boss Soul without the opportunity to exploit it.

If you perform the exploit properly, a confirmation box will appear and your item select option will vanish. You will be able to consume the soul while it remains in your inventory. If you perform the exploit successfully eight times in a minute, that works out to 160,000 souls. If you maintain that rate, it works out to more than 9 million souls per hour.

Save Ember for Emergencies​

Ember raises your life maximum, and in the process, it restores your life to the higher total. That's always useful, but it's especially useful when you're in a grueling battle with a powerful opponent, such as a boss. Save Ember until those occasions, and put it to use when you need it most. Not only will you gain a max HP boost, but you'll take advantage of some much-needed healing that would otherwise be wasted.

Snuggly the Crow items​

Get close to the nest above Firelink Shrine to talk to Snuggly the Crow. He will trade items for specific things that are dropped in her nest with the "Leave" item option in your inventory. Note: You can only do one trade per playthrough, however this resets with each New Game+. Warning: Do not exit the game with an item still resting on the ground before the trade has been completed or you will lose it.

Solaire's Armor​

You can unlock armor that looks like the armor Solaire famously wore in the first Dark Souls game by heading to the roof of Firelink Shrine with the proper items in your possession. First, buy the Belltower Key from the Firelink Handmaid, who will require 20,000 souls. Then ascend the tower toward the bridge. From there, you can drop to the roof and find a nest, where a strange voice calls to you. Leave items in the nest and the crow will give you something else in exchange. It's possible to leave several items (only once each) that will award you the pieces of the desired armor. The list below indicates which items you can offer to receive the desired armor pieces.

Walls Have Secrets​

Don't just blindly trust that things are as they appear in Dark Souls III. Often, you can find what appears to be a wall and it's actually only an illusion. Make sure that you check walls in suspicious places by slashing at them with a weapon, particularly near archways. Sometimes, you'll find a hidden path that is well worth exploring.
